Debbie Ayles - Glimpses of Architecture 2017
A new exhibition, Glimpses of Architecture, featuring work by Cuckoo Farm associate artist Debbie Ayles.
1st-30th August
Ayles' paintings explore the effects of chance patterns of light that appear on architecture, those momentary glimpses of shapes that occur as reflections or shadows on structures creating a fascinating disturbance to the surface.
Using her own drawings of glass, concrete, wooden or metal architecture, Ayles creates energetic and yet simplified paintings of cityscapes, the parallel and metaphor of solid structures converted into more fragile ephemeral entities through the medium of water-based paints.
Red Lion Bookshop, 125 High Street, Colchester
Open Mon-Sat, 9:00-17:30
Debbie will be attending the exhibition on the 12th & 26th from 10:00-12:00 for anyone wishing to know more about her work.
