Outside 16 - A Sense of Place

14 artists have made new work for this exhibition, in response to the location, history, community, geography or physical features of CFS and its grounds.

Open Saturdays and Sundays, 11am - 6pm between August 13th to September 11th, 2016.

Artists: Linda Arkley, Flisan Beard, Karina Carrington, Timothy Healey, Peter Jones, Becky Jordan, Jayne Knowles, Chris Meigh-Andrews, Nicholas Rowe, Sarah Sabin, Hannah Stageman, Lisa Temple-Cox, Linda Theophilus, Amy Turnbull

The show is curated by Linda Theophilus, with Amy Turnbull and Becky Jordan.

The works will be installed around the grounds at Cuckoo Farm, intrinsically linked to their particular sites. Works range from paintings, wood carvings and sculptures, through sound pieces, on-line and video works, to land art and installations.

As well as prompting new work, the exhibition celebrates the community at the studios. The artists who are all tenants or associates of CFS have met together to explore locations and to exchange ideas. Where artists have found common ground, this has extended into longer conversations and the sharing of research. Other tenants have also supported the exhibitors with donations of materials and expertise.
