Social Context of Death, Dying and Disposal: Diversity and Decolonisation by Lisa Temple-Cox 2021

Cuckoo Farm Studios artist Lisa Temple-Cox has had her paper accepted for the upcoming conference: The 15th Annual Conference on the Social Context of Death, Dying and Disposal: Diversity and Decolonisation.

She describes it as "The title is "Itinerant Other: drawing race, gender and abjection in the anatomy museum". I will be presenting four short case studies based on specimens that I have seen and drawn in different collections, that are othered by race, pathology and/or gender:  posing the questions - why are they here? What purpose do they now serve? And if none, what should become of them?

This paper ties in with my recent visual research, and the conference themes of diversity and decolonisation."
